Face Covering Exemption Cards

Under regulations, members of the public must wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth on public transport, transport hubs, museums, galleries, cinemas and more to help curb the spread of the virus, the full list of locations can be viewed by clicking here

Some people are exempt from wearing face coverings including children under 11, people with disabilities, those with breathing difficulties, anyone with someone who relies on lip reading, you can view the full list of people who are exempt by clicking here

Some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign.

This is a personal choice, and is not necessary in law.

Those who have an age, health or disability reason to not wear a face covering should not be routinely asked to provide any written evidence of this. Written evidence includes exemption cards.
